This year’s Transgender Day of Visibility event is with focus on transgender resilience and direct acknowledgement, appreciation and support of transgender individuals. It’s time to truly “see” transgender people by enabling them to showcase their passions, skills and stories. In the wake of HB1125 becoming law, current movement on bills like HB1607 and growing attacks on our community, we must work even harder to create spaces where trans people can exist authentically, feel safe, experience community support and thrive. We choose to be visible, heard and celebrated! That’s what this event is all about – celebrating trans people and our inherent dignity and humanity, despite attacks thrown our way. Transgender people will never “go away”. We are proud to be visible and we will mark this day as one of action, celebration, and positive change!

Event Details:
This event will highlight transgender people, allowing for storytelling and connection through tabling, speaking, entertainment and serving. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase from transgender vendors, representing transgender-led services, businesses and organizations, enjoy live music by transgender artists, gather resources on how to better serve and advocate for the transgender community, and more. Lunch will be served (free) and other treats will be available, as a fundraising opportunity for the TRANS Program. Kids will have a special corner (with sitters), where they will play games and read “banned” kid’s books and transgender people will grace the stage for a “Visibility Runway”. All are invited to participate in the #transisbeautiful challenge by planting flowers and taking photos of themselves at our dedicated flower bed. TDOV will be a fun and purposeful event for the whole family!

Transgender and Non-binary people are invited to participate as Vendors!
There is NO fee associated with tabling as a vendor, although donations to the TRANS Program are always welcome! SELL and make some CASH! Promote your small business, your organization, your art or craft, your skills, your talent, your services, your transition fundraiser, etc. You will also have an opportunity to briefly promote on the stage, during the event (if desired). TDOV is about YOU.

What is TDOV?
Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) is a day dedicated to uplifting transgender and gender non-conforming / non-binary individuals while increasing society's awareness of the work that remains to be done for justice, equality and acceptance. Although our event is being held on March 30th, TDOV is internationally recognized on March 31st, annually. The day brings the community together to recognize the resilience and the beautiful diversity we embody.
Q&A:
Q: Is this a family friendly event?
A: Yes! Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. We will feature a Kids Corner, where sitters will be available to watch your kids. Kids will have the opportunity to play games and read “banned” books.
Q: Should I register?
A: Yes! If you register, you will receive FREE event swag at the event (until we run out)! Those registered will also receive up-to-date information on this event, as it nears!
Q: Is this event FREE?
A: Yes! Community can attend for free. Please bring cash, if you would like to purchase from transgender and non-binary vendors!
Q: How should I dress?
A: Dress comfortably and/or as you would for a Pride Event!
Q: Should I bring anything?
A: Yes. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, if you'd like to sit while watching speakers / entertainers. Bring cash / cards if you’d like to purchase from transgender and non-binary vendors.
Q: Will restrooms be available at the park?
A: Yes.
Q: Will there be food at the park?
A: Yes. FREE food will be available on a first come first serve basis. There will also be food for donation, as fundraising for the TRANS Program.
Q: What kind of activities can I expect?
A: You can expect FREE food, live music, transgender and non-binary vendors (business owners, creatives, service providers, organization leaders, advocates, etc.) and resources, our #transisbeautiful challenge (flower planting and photo contest), our trans and non-binary Visibility Runway, games and “banned” books for kids and more!
Q: Can I participate as a Volunteer?

Q: Can I participate as a Vendor?
A: If you are transgender or non-binary — yes. Please sign-up to be a Vendor by CLICKING HERE or at the top of this webpage! If you are under the age of 18, you must have parental consent to be a vendor. Vendors will also have an opportunity to briefly promote on the stage, during the event (if desired).
Q: Can I participate on the stage?
A: If you are transgender or non-binary — yes. Vendors and other transgender and non-binary people will have the ability to grace our stage during a promotions segment and during the Visibility Runway. If you are a transgender or non-binary musician or performer, we may have space for you to perform. Inquire by email at hello@transprogram.org.
Q: Can I sponsor?
A: Yes! We are still accepting sponsors. Sponsors can contribute, based on what they can afford — ranging from $100 to $500. All sponsors will be acknowledged and thanked on promotional materials (print and online) and recognized on stage at the event itself.
